How to Develop a Close Relationship with Someone you just met



Whether you're looking to start a new friendship, business relationship, or romantic relationship, learning how to develop a close relation with someone new can be challenging.Luckily, it's actually very, very easy to do.

Figure Out Who You Want to Build a Relationship With

Start the Conversation -- whether in a group setting or one-on-one -- on a light-hearted, surface level note.When you first meet someone, you want the interaction to be:Jokes and interesting stories are the best. Remember the old adage, "Be Interested, and Be Interesting."

* Positive
* Interesting
* Fun

Isolate.
* It is hard to develop a deep relationship in a group. Find a way to logistically move the person you want to build a relationship with into a one-on-one setting.
* You can do this the same day you meet them or by scheduling a follow up.

Go Deeper.
* Ask F.O.R.D. questions.
* F - Family
* O - Occupation
* R - Recreation
* D - Dreams

Go Even Deeper - Share Past Victories and Past Pain.
* Childhood
* Values
* Fears and Insecurities
* Past Crisis

Validate.
* Let the person you are with know that you are exactly like them.
* "What makes you cool is that you value most people feel like we should value . I'm the same way and it's rare for me to meet someone who feels the same way as me. You're awesome!

* Recognize their strengths. Make sure you're being authentic.
* "Has anybody ever told you that you are .
* The key here is that everyone has qualities about themselves that they pride themselves on. 99% of people feel that these qualities are under-recognized and under-appreciated.


Tips

* Be authentic. Nobody likes a fake.
* Every time you ask them a question, share part of your story with them.
* Be vulnerable, but not whiny. Vulnerability is the first thing we look for in others and the last thing we want to share of ourselves. Learn to be emotionally honest. But don't stay on negativity; always move back to a positive topic.
