ELECTIONS2015: Mimiko, Obanikoro, Gani Adams Fail To Deliver Polling Units


Ondo State Gov­ernor Olusegun Mimiko lost out to the All Progressives Con­gress (APC) at Ward 07, Uunit 10, in Ondo town where he voted in yester­day’s Presidential and Na­tional Assembly elections.

The governor, who is also the South West Coordinator of Goodluck Campaign Or­ganization was defeated by 20 votes when the result of the unit was announced.

The result indicated that the APC Presidential Can­didate, General Muham­madu Buhari defeated the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the unit.

The APC got 95 votes in the presidential poll while PDP had 75, and in the sena­torial election the APC had 93 and PDP got 82 votes.

Also, at Muroko unit 03 also in Ward 07 of Ondo town where the State Coor­dinator of Buhari Campaign Organization, Hon Bola Ilori voted, the APC won with a wide margin.

However, details of the election results in Ondo State are yet to be released by the Independent Nation­al Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a related development, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro failed to de­liver his polling unit to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and President Good­luck Jonathan. Similarly, the National Coordinator of the Odua Peoples Congress (OPC), Otunba Ganiyu Ad­ams also lost his ward.

At the Obanikoro Ikoyi Polling Unit the APC got 62 in the presidential poll while PDP had 38 votes. For the senatorial election, APC scored 58 votes while PDP had 44 and in the House of Representatives election, the APC chalked up 56 votes while the PDP got 38 votes.
